Carlos Vargas-Silva is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford, where he is based at Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS). Carlos has been a consultant in migration related projects for the Asian Development Bank, European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank, UK Home Office and the United Nations University. He is the Principal Investigator for the project The Labor Market Impacts of Forced Migration.

Co-Principal-Investigator Sonja Fransen

Sonja Fransen is a Researcher at the Masstricht Graduate Schoold of Governance and UNU-MERIT.  She has extensive fieldwork experience in various African countries, including South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda and Burundi. Her main research expertise includes forced migration, refugees, remittances, return migration, and development. She is a Post-doc in the project The Labor Market Impacts of Forced Migration.

Co-Principal-Investigator Craig Loschmann

Craig Loschmann is a PhD Fellow at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and UNU-MERIT. His research focuses on the relationship between migration and development in the post-conflict environment of Afghanistan, using two unique household surveys which provide the opportunity to explore various themes in a quantitatively empirical manner. He is the Field Coordinator in Burundi for the data collection efforts of the project The Labor Market Impact of Forced Migration.

Isabel Ruiz is the Economics Fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. She teaches for the undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and Economics and Management (EM) of the University. Her research interests include international economics and development economics. She is a Researcher in the project The Labor Market Impacts of Forced Migration.

Co-Principal-Investigator Melissa Siegel

Melissa Siegel currently works as an Associate Professor and Head of Migration Studies at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and UNU-MERIT where she heads the Migration and Development research group of UNU-MERIT. She currently holds positions as a Research Associate at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and an Associated Researchers at the International Migration Institute (IMI) at the University of Oxford. She is a Researcher in the project The Labor Market Impacts of Forced Migration.
